D.A.V. SCHOOL
Santhavelur
To impart quality education in rural areas too, D.A.V. School at Santhavelur was started in the year 2009 with classes from Pre KG. to I Standard.
Now the school has grown to a strength about 1050 students and 45 teachers with classes from Pre KG. to XI Standard.
Each year lays the foundation for ideas in the years to come. D.A.V. School, Santhavelur is growing by leaps and bounds.
Due to the untiring efforts of the Management and Teachers as well as the great support from parents, from a humble beginning – Pre KG. to I Standard today this school has grown to the extent of having this school has grown to the extent of having classes up to XII Standard. The first batch of XII std. appeared for the Board examination in the year March 2024.
We are quite sure that with the support of all the well wishers, D.A.V. School, Santhavelur will grow even larger even faster.
The children here are very fortunate to be in a school like this with spacious classrooms and a serene atmosphere.

Rules & Regulations
CODE OF CONDUCT
1. Students are advised to greet the Principal and teachers by saying “Namaste”.
2. When a member of staff or any dignitary enters the class room, the students should stand up and wish them “Namaste”. They should be standing till they are advised to take their seats.
3. Students should not leave the class room without the permission of the teacher.
4. Silence should be maintained while moving from one class to another or to the assembly.
5. Littering the school premises, loitering in the corridors and scribbling on desk or causing damage to school property are strictly prohibited.
6. Students should read the notices displayed on the notice board every day and note them in their Hand Book. Ignorance of information displayed on the notice board will not be an excuse for the failure to comply with it.
7. Frequent absence from school and late coming will be deemed as a form of misconduct.
8. Students violating any of these rules are liable to be suspended or dismissed at the discretion of the Principal.
9. Behaviour of the student impacts the image of the school. Therefore every student is expected to maintain decent standards of behaviour outside the premises also.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
- No student shall be absent without prior sanction of leave except in case of unforeseen circumstances.
- Student requiring leave for any part of the day on account of illness or other unavoidable circumstances shall obtain permission from the Principal before leaving the school.
- For permission or leave, letter should be submitted duly signed by the parent.
- Leave on medical grounds will be granted only on producing a Medical Certificate.
- Serious note will be taken for absence without prior permission at the time of examinations and reopening of school after holidays.
GENERAL
- Physical Education is compulsory for all students. No student will be exempted from physical exercise and games, without prior permission from the Principal.
- Each student shall be a member of any one of the four houses. Games and competitions are conducted among the four houses and the best performing house will be awarded.
- Music, Dance, Quiz, Painting, Drawing, Fancy Dress and Rangoli competitions are conducted and the best performance is awarded.
- Education is imparted through Audio-Visual media to the students.
- For the general well-being of the students, medical check-up by qualified Medical Officers is arranged.
- Students are trained to take part in inter-school & inter-state competitions organized by social and literary organizations.
TO PARENTS
1. Parents are welcome to visit the school, but they are requested not to enter classrooms and speak with the teachers without permission of the Principal.
2. Parents who seek any information or wish to make any complaint should write to the school authorities and not to the class teacher.
3. Answer papers of the pupil sent to the parents after tests / examinations are to be perused and returned carefully, duly signed.
4. Parents / Guardians are required to meet the teachers concerned after the term examinations at the time of signing Progress Report.
5. Parents are requested to see that their wards do not wear jewellery or carry valuable articles to school. The school authorities will not be responsible for the loss of such articles.
6. Parents are advised to ensure that their children do the home work regularly and study their lessons at home and spend only reasonable time for playing and minimise television viewing.
7. Total co-operation of parents and guardians is required, so that children may get the best out of school.
8. Parents should communicate with children and offer words of encouragement and motivation.
9. Make sure your child has enough sleep each night, as this will improve concentration during the day.
10. Provide healthy meals. Start each day with a protein rich – well balanced breakfast.
